Both get busier when the weather warms up. Ants come inside looking for food and water, and spiders follow the insects.

• Ant trails

  Lines of ants along the skirting, across the bench or up the wall to a window.

• Nests outside

  Little piles of dirt between pavers, along paths and at garden edges.

• Webs

  Webs in the eaves, window frames, sheds, fences and the garden.

• Worse when it's warm
